Rachael specialises in all aspects of Family Law, and has a particular interest in child law.

She is also regularly instructed to give advice and representation in a wide range of civil applications and trials.

Family Law Practice


Children Law (Private and Public)

Rachael has a particular interest in private child law. Her practice includes contact, residence, parental responsibility, specific issue, prohibited steps and removal from the jurisdiction.


Rachael has represented parents and the guardian in public law proceedings.


Domestic Violence


Rachael has considerable experience of Family Law Act 1996 cases. She represents Applicants and Respondents in respect of non-molestation orders, occupation orders and committal proceedings. Rachael has natural sensitivity, empathy and a reassuring approach when advising and representing vulnerable clients.


Matrimonial Finance and Property


Rachael's work covers Financial Remedies (ancillary relief) on the breakdown of a marriage or a civil partnership, applications under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustee Act 1996 and cases dealing with financial provision for children of unmarried parents under Schedule One of the Children Act 1989. Further, Inheritance Act and contentious probate claims.


Matrimonial Proceedings


Includes:

1) Contested divorce and dissolution of civil partnership.

2) Judicial separation and nullity proceedings.


Civil Litigation Practice


Rachael's practice covers personal injury, commercial, contract, chancery, property and housing. She undertakes a variety of hearings including; mortgage possession; landlord and tenant; consumer credit; bankruptcy; winding up; debt recovery; enforcement; infant settlement approvals; anti-social behaviour injunctions; disposal hearings; interim applications; interim injunctions; summary judgment; setting aside judgment; directions; procedural hearings; case management conferences and pre-trial reviews. Rachael represents clients in small claims, fast track trials, multi-track actions and on appeal. She also provides written advice largely in relation to personal injury claims.


Rachael is a member of the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution and The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn.
